Description:
Pratt Feeders LLC is a 40,000 custom feeding operation in Pratt, Kansas. We are currently searching for a full time qualified pen rider to maintain the quality and welfare of our animal health. The position available is a full time position with quality benefits and compensation. Low stress and common sense handling is how we operate. the job will consist of shipping, riding pens, receiving cattle, and all cattle movements along a team of other cowboys. Team work and good attitude is a must. 85-90% of your time will be spent horseback either alone or with other crew members.



Responsibilities

-Moving shipping cattle to scales and weighing.

-Weighing and yarding incoming cattle.

-Pen moves when necessary

-Riding pens assigned to you daily.(We normally assign our pen riders the same alley daily to know the cattle better)

-Assisting with doctoring and go homes

-Sorting when necessary

-retreiving and taking processing cattle when necessary



Qualifications

-3 years experience riding pens is preferred but not required for the right person.

-Personal horses is a must. We do not supply enough company horses for full time work.

-Strong work ethic

-Dependability

-Doctoring experience is good but not required

Schedule

-8 to 10 hour days on normal work day

-Work 11 of 14 day period rotating. 1 weekend off plus 1 rotating weekday.

-Every other weekend and holiday schedule

-Flexibility with scheduling for family or personal time when possible.
