APHA registered! His striking coat gets attention wherever we go, and you can see the kindness in his eyes the moment you meet him. He is calm and gentle, the kind of gelding everyone needs in their barn. He stands 15.1hh (the perfect height!) and is 10 years old. He’s “in your pocket” and enjoys being petted and pampered, he’s the kind of horse that will be your buddy. He is well mannered, whether that’s in his stall, turned out, standing for the farrier and tacking up, or on his back! Silverado is such a pleasure to ride. So quiet and steady. He is what we consider more whoa than go, however he will happily move out if you call on him for it. He is responsive and in tune with his rider. Nice comfortable gaits, moves off of leg pressure. He has some buttons, but he’s very user friendly! We have taken him on overnight camping trail ride trips. Out on the trails, he’s a pro. He has been up and down some very steep and slippery terrain, and he navigates it all like the seasoned veteran he is. Rocky ground, deep mud, slippery banks, thick brush, Silverado just quietly eases through and keeps his rider safe. I really enjoy trails with him, because he is so steady. Busy roads with traffic do not phase him, and he doesn’t mind any of our crazy farm animals or wild kids. Lol! He’s been used for a little ranch work, pushing cows around, and he’s also started on the head and heel side on live steers out of the box. Silverado is going to make the perfect addition to your family, and if we need to hold him until Christmas, we are more than happy to arrange that- free of charge!
