The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horse care, ranch management, and staff supervision, with a focus on thoroughbred horses. The Ranch Manager will be responsible for maintaining the health and well-being of the horses, managing ranch staff, and overseeing all aspects of the ranch’s daily operations. Responsibilities: • Manage the daily care of thoroughbred horses, including feeding, grooming, and exercise routines. • Monitor the health of the horses and coordinate veterinary care as needed. • Oversee the breeding program, including coordination with veterinarians and handling of broodmares and foals. • Manage ranch staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. • Maintain ranch facilities, including pastures, barns, fencing, and equipment. • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and ranch operational procedures. • Develop and manage the ranch budget, including feed, supplies, and labor costs. • Handle administrative tasks such as record-keeping for horse care, breeding, and health. • Coordinate with suppliers for feed, veterinary services, and other necessary resources. • Communicate regularly with owners regarding ranch operations and any issues. Qualifications: • 3-5 years of experience managing a horse ranch, ideally with thoroughbred horses. • Strong knowledge of horse care, health management, and equine husbandry. • Experience with breeding and foaling operations. • Excellent leadership and staff management skills. • Ability to manage budgets and understand basic financial reports. • Strong communication skills and ability to work with owners, veterinarians, and other external stakeholders. • Ability to operate farm machinery and handle physical demands of ranch work. • Bachelor’s degree in Equine Science, Ranch Management, or related field preferred but not required.
