Full-Time Experienced Ranch Hand - Colorado

Hidden Valley Ranch Bailey, CO - Our family-owned multi-generational mountain ranch is looking for an honest, hardworking, detail-oriented self-starter.



This position reports to the Ranch Manager on site and will also work with others throughout the organization.



Job Responsibilities:



The primary focus of duties at this ranch is general land maintenance, boundary and interior fence repair and replacement, structural maintenance and repair on many of the sheds, buildings and dwellings on the property. This individual will also participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.



Animal Care: Assist in the daily care and management of animals on site. Animal care is limited in scope.



General Ranch Duties: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fences, gates, and equipment. Experience in snow removal is a must.



Farm Operations Support: Assist with various farming activities as needed, including planting, harvesting, and equipment operation.



Irrigation: Coordinate and implement various initiatives to support ongoing irrigation projects throughout the ranch.



Various project work including land clearing, brush hogging, cutting, raking and baling hay seasonally, spraying, mowing yards/pastures, timber removal etc.



Flexibility: Adapt to the changing demands of ranch and farm operations, including being on-call during critical periods.



Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the ranch, maintaining open communication and a cooperative attitude. Must be able to work well with others.



Equipment Operation: Heavy Equipment Operation. Operate and maintain tractors and heavy equipment, ATVs, vehicles and other ranch equipment safely and efficiently. Proficiency in heavy equipment operation required.



Record Keeping: Assist with maintaining accurate records related to land maintenance, structural projects, and other essential data.



House Maintenance and Repairs: Ability to act as a general handyman for all houses and structures. This will include managing upkeep and winterizing as needed.







Requirements / Qualifications:



Previous experience as a ranch / farm hand is required.



Willingness to learn - we will provide training in the technical aspects of the role, but a basic understanding of ranch operations is required.



Physical fitness -ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.



Flexibility - must be able to adjust to changing priorities and work demands, including irregular hours.



Team player - strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.



Record keeping - experience with general record keeping as it relates to ranch inventory and reporting.



Driver’s license - a valid driver’s license is required. CDL is a plus.
