Description:
Meet Denny Shines aka Rooster! He is a 15 hands, 7 year-old coal black gelding with a huge heart and lots of ability! Rooster is a seasoned veteran on and off the ranch, and is capable of any job you want to throw at him. Rooster has been used to dr cattle on the outside, ship sort, and spent lots of time at the feed yard. He has a ground covering walk and a smooth long trot and lope. He crosses creeks, canyons and rocky terrain without hesitation, doesn’t have any spook or silly business and is just easy and reliable anywhere we take him. Rooster has been to the Palo Duro canyon countless times and has packed novice to experienced riders through brush, over logs, bridges and through rivers without ever missing a step. He will go wherever you point him without a care in the world.



Rooster takes both his leads, and has a smooth one handed neck rein, making him super enjoyable to operate and ride. He’s light as butter and will let you put him in any spot.



Our seven and nine-year-old kids have taken him to play days and have taken him in the barrels and poles and he is handy enough to be guided through all the patterns. Saylor has spent a lot of time patterning him on the barrels specifically and breakawaying on the sled. This horse would be a top tier JR rodeo horse for a kid that wants to be competitive and knows how to ride a little. He is smart, willing and very talented with a good mind to boot.



Our little girl Saylor has also rode this horse English a LOT it’s actually one of her favorite things to do. He goes over small jumps for her and just looks so good tacked up English! We have also used this horse to carry the flag in the grand entry.



Rooster is a big fancy, beautiful gelding that can do everything from the weekend trail rides, to ranch chores, all the way to the play days and JR rodeos!



These kind are hard to find and we have absolutely enjoyed this kind gelding and so will you!
