TR Flashy Cat aka “Smarty” is a Sorrel 2014 AQHA Registered gelding that stands at 14.2 hands. Smarty is an own son of TR Dual Rey with other incredible horses on his papers like Smart Little Lena and High Brow Cat. This adorable gelding certainly fulfills his name and is very well rounded. He has been used as a Breakaway and Heel Horse in recent years but has potential to do so many more disciplines such as Ranch Sorting, Team Penning, Barrels, Poles, and other speed events, as well as other cow work type competitions such as SHOT shows! He’d make an awesome trail and/or ranch horse as well if you’re not looking to compete and just want a solid riding partner. Smarty has a big kind eye and a personality that will make you fall in love with him! He’s kind, honest, and so willing you can ask this guy to do almost anything and he’ll just put his head down and work like a soldier for you. Smarty is very soft in the bridle and rides nicely in anything from a snaffle to a bigger correction bridle. He neck reins nicely or if you prefer to ride with two hands he’ll ride around just as well. He moves off leg and seat pressure which is what makes him such a great mount for so many different disciplines. Smarty stands tied nicely to be groomed, saddled and bathed. Smarty does very well riding with other horses as I’ve ponied some colts off him so he certainly won’t mind horses riding up next to him or behind him, he also rides well by himself and isn’t barn or buddy sour. Smarty is my personal favorite at my barn right now and I have so much more I could say about him. He’s athletic, he’s kind, he’s gentle, he is really the whole package that so many different types and styles of riders could enjoy. Smarty has also been recently done by my farrier and seen by my vet, and was such gentleman for both.
