Description:
Santa Fe Feeders, LLC in Cimarron, KS is looking for an applicant for a pen rider/cowboy in our 10,000 head feedlot. Applicant must have a positive attitude and work well with other employees, be able to work in a fast paced environment, have experience in identifying and treating sick cattle, possess excellent cattle handling skills, and be able to keep 2 horses in rotation. We do NOT supply company horses and it is your responsibility to be able to supply 2 sound and broke horses at all times. No green broke or studs allowed. Pasture and roping skills are not required, but are good to have. We run 1000-2000 head on irrigated circles year round. Most days are spent horseback, but you will not be horseback all day, everyday. Applicants are expected to be flexible and willing to do whatever jobs they are given for the day.





Job duties include but are not limited to:



-Riding pens: Identifying and pulling cattle from pens. We do not rope cattle inside the yard



-Doctoring daily pulls



-Shipping and receiving cattle



-Daily movements



-Processing cattle when needed



-Returning hospital cattle to home pen



-Doctoring cattle on pasture



-Moving cattle to and from pastures



-Operating equipment to maintain horse pens and hospital facilities



-Building and removing wheat pasture hot wire fences



-Maintaining pasture fences and facilities



-Hauling hay for horses and cattle as needed



Housing is available for singles/couples if it is something you are looking for. No pens provided for extra stock and no indoor pets.
