Description:
10000 head starting yard and cow/calf ranch is adding a pen rider to its team. Located in NW Oklahoma, we specialize in high-risk cattle. Not a beginner position. Applicant must have experience in identifying sick cattle, good horsemanship and working knowledge of quiet cattle handling practices, be a team player, be teachable, own at least 2 working cow/ranch horses, be familiar with feed lot practices, speak fluent English, be willing to work long hours during peak seasons and work in all weather conditions. Not an 9-5 job, available to work some weekends & holidays, applicant must be motivated, a team player but can work unsupervised and work until the job is completed. If your spouse and/or family doesn’t understand the demands of being a cowboy – please do not apply. It’s not a job that will run you in the ground while the boss if off playing. The boss/owner is on-site and will be working right along side you. He does not ask you to do anything he is not willing to do himself. Duties include but not limited to: doctoring, processing, moving, feeding, shipping & receiving cattle, checking grass & wheat pasture cattle and fences plus some maintenance work if needed. Starting salary $42K+ DOE, 3BR/2BA housing & basic utilities provided, will hay up to 3 working horses, personal 3 stall barn with runs and tack room, beef available, off weekend & holiday rotation, yearly bonuses and opportunities for additional income, family-oriented operation, no drugs, smoking or drama. Roping arena available. Great community, close to town with 2 school district options.
