Description:
JWB Gatok River, or River as we call him, is an absolutely stunning golden palomino, reg AQHA gelding. River came to me as just a scraggly yearling but has grown into the most handsome and dependable partner that I can use for anything. He’s done a little bit of everything under the sun after being stuck with me for 7 years and is my go to horse for many different things. If a friend that doesn’t know much about riding wants to join us on a ride, he’s the guy for the job. Need a trusty mount that’ll take a bump, a pull, or a flag to start colts? He’s the guy for the job. Need to get some cattle up from the pasture and sorted or roped? He’s your guy! Fun show? Ranch class? Flag horse? Trail ride? Ranch rodeo? I could go on and on about all of the things this guy has been there and done but the best way to know if he’s the one for you is to come and see him for yourself! His goofy, but loving and friendly personality is easy to fall in love with. Manners! Did I forget manners?! I expect all of my horses to be gentle enough that my grandma could lead them around without a hitch and River is a prime example. He loads, unloads, ties, trims, stands for the vet, bathes, no issues with any of it. Overnight camping trips and new places have never phased this guy. He’ll stay in portable electric fence or stand on a high line. In the arena you can expect all of the buttons that you could ever want on a horse along with smooth, easy gaits. He has a fantastic little trot AND lope but will also cover some ground and extend out in both gaits. He rides out away from the farm and other horses without a problem. Traffic is also no issue for him. We’ve gone on countless backroads rides and covered many miles, just the two of us. He couldn’t care less if he has another horse going with him, he’s just ready for a new adventure. We’ve even rode into town for ice cream a few times but that was nothing since he has carried a flag in the Tri-State Rodeo parade every year since he was 3. River will pick you up from the fence or a mounting block as well! This guy has been Shelby’s personal horse for the past 7 years so it’s safe to say that she knows him like the back of her hand. River is in his absolute prime at 8 years old and stands 15.2 hands. Creating a great match for both horse and rider is Weaver’s Quarter Horses number one priority! We are located in Shobonier, IL.
