Description:
We raise cattle & horses and make alfalfa, meadow, and grain hay on about 900 acres 40 minutes from the nearest grocery store. Our caretaker position is in exchange for a "bunkhouse" studio apartment with a large loft located on the ranch, utilities included. It also has the option for space for horses (hay included!) Exchange value of approximately $2000/month. This position requires AM feeding and cleaning for 16-20 horses (most live turned out, only 10 stalls to keep clean that are not always full) and PM feeding and watering, maintaining ranch cleanliness (raking around feed area, etc.) This job takes between 1.5-2 hours in the morning and another 1-1.5 hours in the evenings (approximately 2.5-3.5 hours per day.) It is wonderful for a single person who works part time, or a couple who can split duties. The perfect candidate(s) would also work on site and receive hourly pay ($DOE) for assisting during haying, fence work, and/or saddling and loping horses (this is the second position we are looking to fill). We need help on the horse side more so than the farm side, but ideally would find someone or a couple that could wear both hats as needed. Must be physically able to lift 60+ pounds, comfortable around animals, and have horse experience. Located in Paradise Valley NV. Please email kismetperformancehorses@gmail.com if you are interested.
