My husband and I are seeking a long-term ranch lease to grow into. We have over 20 years of ranch production experience, including hands-on work as ranch hands as well as management experience on mid-size cattle ranches in Wyoming and Montana. Due to our current lease location, we would desire to remain in western Wyoming or Montana. Over the past ten years we have been developing our own cattle herd and hay equipment. We have leased a variety of properties for grazing as well as hay production. We have partnered with owners on several places to improve fencing, fields, corrals, irrigation, and other infrastructure, in addition to growing our herd of Simmental-Angus cows and producing hay to meet our needs. I have also incorporated some custom hay jobs and day-work cattle jobs to fill the gaps. We have significant experience through all phases of ranch operation and maintenance. We have essentially "outgrown" our current leases. We have excellent relationships with our landlords, owners, neighbors, and in the community, but desire to grow our operation beyond what our current leases can support. We refuse to take advantage of the ground and are focused on a holistic approach that promotes sustainability for both my cattle operation as well as the health and improvement of our leased soils, pastures, and hay fields. We would love to find someone to who is looking to scale back their involvement on an established operation that would allow us to lease ground and to build into a working operation. We would also consider leasing from someone who has just purchased a ranch and is needing assistance in building or developing a program. We are highly motivated self-starters, with years of practical experience on multiple operations, including the one we have built from nothing. We emphasize superior stockmanship! Our cattle and horses are gentle and easy to work with. They grow well, are healthy, and respectful of handling and fences. We love what we do and are passionate about producing livestock that are profitable and gentle. We are looking for an opportunity that would allow us to grow and we bring experience from operations running upwards of 800 cows.
