Flint is a phenomenal grulla dun gelding who is looking for his loving forever home! He is 12 years old and 16.1 hands tall. Don’t let his size concern you! He is a true gentle giant with a heart as big as Texas! He will patiently stand still while you get on him, whether you hop on up or have to use a mounting block. He has the most gentle and expressive big, brown eyes you’ve ever seen and he is willing to move a mountain for his person! Many people assume he’s older than his 12 years due to the old-soul vibe he gives off and his unshakable nature. Flint has been mainly ridden by a 9 year old and a 16 year old. He is suitable for a beginner up to an advanced rider. Although he’s more woah than go, don’t assume he’s lazy or unwilling. He will get up and go if it’s asked of him. He has been trail ridden extensively and used around the farm to catch and doctor cows and check fences. He will walk, trot and lopes circles, back up, and has a good stop on him. Flint is about as bombproof a horse as you can get - he’s been exposed to loud trucks, Amish buggies, barking dogs, goats running under him, bouncing balls, loud tarps, backfiring cars, kids yelling and playing - nothing seems to phase this big guy! He recently had a large aggressive dog threaten to attack him while my older son was riding him through a neighborhood and he remained calm and responsive to my son’s direction. Thankfully, because they both kept their wits, any further incident with the aggressive dog was avoided. Flint takes every new experience in stride, with the same calm expression in his eyes and the same trustworthy demeanor. You can take Flint to a new environment and he will stand tied all day like a statue - no fuss, no outbursts, no pawing. He is comfortable in his own presence and always seems very interested in just serenely watching what’s going on around him. As expected, Flint also has no qualms about bathing, sprays, farriers, or loading in the trailer.
