Description:
Seeking qualified individuals to assist ranchers in reducing conflicts between livestock and wildlife.



This is a animal damage control job that involves reducing conflict between agriculture and wildlife.



Person must have:

-Knowledge of wildlife damage control methods such as trapping and firearm use.

-Ability to identify N. American wildlife species.

-Good communication skills

-Ability to identifying wildlife and

-Ability to work alone in remote areas.

-Experience with computers.

-Must have the legal and physical ability to possess and discharge firearms.

-Must be able to pass a government background check and drug screen.



This position is with the federal government within USDA Wildlife Services. The primary duties will be to perform techniques to reduce wildlife (mostly predator) and livestock conflicts. This is a fulltime position with possibility of benefits. Work schedule is variable but will include occasional nights, weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings, as well as some travel away from home.



Housing is not provided. Employee will need to secure their own housing in Umatilla County such as Pendleton or surrounding towns. Employee will work out of their residence and drive government truck and travel around county helping different ranches on different days.
