Description:
Sunrise Mountain Ranch is looking for an intelligent, motivated, hardworking crew member to fill a full-time ranch and land restoration position.

The selected ranch hand will be required to work closely under the guidance and supervision of the General Manager, Land Restoration and Stewardship, along with other ranch employees.



CORE RESPONISBILITIES:

• Assist with ranch duties to include irrigation, haying, fencing, equipment and tractor operation, cattle work, calving, and doctoring of cattle.

• Aid with land restoration projects to include eradicating nonnative plants, native plant restoration, assisting with general ranch maintenance, implementing project monitoring, and other tasks.

• Ability to take direction from ranch staff, work as part of the team, use hand tools, carry field gear, and work in all types of weather conditions.

• SMR will provide on-site transportation, tools, equipment while on the job.

• Preferred that the employee lives on site in provided housing but not required.



REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Farm and ranch experience is preferred.

• Ecological restoration, construction, heavy equipment operation is a plus

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.; Ability to climb ladders.

• Crew members will provide their own transportation to and from SMR.

• Employee must have the physical capability to perform all core functions of the

position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the core functions of the job.

• Ability to complete and pass a background check, motor vehicle checks (clean driving record) and drug testing as part of the hiring process.

• Able to work legally in the United States.



COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• Full time (40 Hours/Week)

• Salary: Hourly rate $22-25 ($45,700-52,000) depending on experience

• Competitive benefit package



SMR is a 14,500-acre working cattle ranch located near Bly, Oregon in the upper Sprague River. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in gaining hands-on ecological restoration and land management experience.
