Description:
Mesa is a well-built 16-hand mare with solid black feet, a good mouth, and lots of muscle. She was originally purchased from Mahlstedt Quarter Horses to be a 4-H project, and sold to us when her owner left for college. Mesa likes people. She was easy to start, willing to please, and showed no buck then or since then. As a three and four year old she earned her keep as a ranch horse in the Little Snowies traveling many mountain miles for all aspects of ranch work. Last fall she was our 11 year old son’s main ride for cow work. This year we have lightly started her on barrels, poles, flag racing, pen roping, roping the Smarty, and box work. We have hauled her for an obstacle course, lining cattle, flagging, and the grand entry at our kids’ rodeos. She is easy to catch, energetic, fun to ride, stands tied for extended periods of time, handles new environments easily, and desensitizes quickly. She’s UTD and easy to shoe, vaccinate, and deworm. Mesa has a blemish on her right front foot and left front cannon. Otherwise, she is healthy, sound, and ready to work!
