We don’t typically offer prospects, but when they’re as exceptional as “𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒍”, we make an exception. Whether you’re in need of a rope horse prospect, ranch horse prospect, ranch versatility prospect, or even a barrel horse prospect… this exceptional youngster has the foundation laid and the ability to do it all.

The Colonel has lightly dipped his hooves into just about every discipline and has proven he’ll be a standout in all. He’s been used outside to gather and sort, has tracked the dummy, has been taken through the barrel pattern a handful of times, and has the right foundation in the arena to knock it out of the park if you’d like to turn him into a versatility horse. The Colonel is fluid in all gaits with a comfortable lope, the beginning of a big stop, and is stepping around himself correctly. He has a light mouth and is respectful of leg and seat pressure. He’s gone through all of the desensitization steps a youngster should have and did it all without a hitch as well; bridges, flags, tarps, etc.. Anything we have thrown at The Colonel or have asked him to do, he’s handled it like a horse triple his age.

The Colonel is very smart, willing, curios, retains what he learns, and is gentle minded. Currently in his lanky stage right now, but if you take a look at his papers along with the bone and substance he has, he’s going to be a stout and well made gelding once he’s finished out growing. I’ve owned several bred like him and they’ve all finished out 1200lbs+.

The Colonel has great ground manners; stands for grooming/tacking/bathing, is good for the farrier, loads and unloads easily, stands tied with no foolishness, and is even hobble broke. The Colonel has never taken a lame step and has no blemishes of any kind. He has a personality of gold and absolutely loves his person and any attention he gets. I truly believe the sky is the limit in the right hands for him. Whether that’s being a performance horse or someone’s go to mount for ranch work.
