Description:
This central Montana operation is multifaceted and a highly desirable work environment. The ranch is home to 650 mother cows, and 200 yearlings that will be turned out on grass. Additionally, there is a feedlot with roughly 1,200 head occupancy that primarily serves as a heifer development program. This is more than just a cowboy position, operating and maintaining equipment, putting up dryland hay, maintaining fences, general cattle husbandry and constant land stewardship are all equal parts of this job. Most cattle work is done horseback, there is capable management in place and additional employees.



REQUIREMENTS/DUTIES

• Daily tasks include but not limited to: Feeding cattle, managing herd health, doctoring cattle as needed, equipment operation & maintenance, outbuilding and grounds maintenance.

• Other fluctuating tasks: fencing, haying, processing new cattle, branding, water system maintenance/repair.

• Must be hard working and a considered as a "self-starter" and previous related experience is preferable.

• Simultaneously be independent while working well with other crew members.



All candidates MUST be able to provide 3 references to be considered for the job. If you have a great work ethic and open mind, we are willing to teach on the job.



JOB SPECIFICS

• Full-time salary position, pay is DOE.

• The opportunity needs to be filled immediately.

• Housing is available for one employee and can accommodate a small family if needed.

• Bring your own horses, dogs are not ideal, but negotiable.

• The ranch headquarters is located just 20 minutes east of Lewistown, Montana.

• This ranch has been in the same family for generations, pride in their cattle and land stewardship is evident.
