Description:
Experienced, dedicated, semi-retired cowman looking for cowboy, buckaroo or campman position. Prefer southwest region. I have reached retirement age and want a riding job that will let me enjoy being a horseback and working cows. I don’t want to mow lawns, pull weeds, cultivate flowers, feed the dogs, shovel stalls, irrigate, or put up hay. I do want to help you get your cow works done and enjoy a good horse.



I was raised on the Gray Ranch in the bootheel of New Mexico, but spent most of my life cowboying/buckarooing on ranches in Oregon/Nevada/Arizona and the Great Basin area. I have worked for big outfits of over 10,000 head/over 3 million acres to small family ranches of 200 head/35,000 acres. I have been in camp jobs, worked on the wagon, been coltman/roughstring rider, been cowboss, been livestock manager, been general manager.



I have never been an ‘arm-chair’ employee. I will be right there, doing whatever it takes to get the job done. I prefer doing so, but being a horseback and working cows is what I love.



Housing is not necessary. My wife and I have down-sized to a 5th wheel with 3 slides. We would require some sort of hook-up for it or arrangements for facilities. I have 1 ranch horse, and 1 small house dog. Still shoe my own horses and work everyday a horseback.
