Description:
Chaz is a cowboy cool 14 hand , 8 yr old buckskin ranch horse.

He is gentle and was being ridden and used by a rancher in his 70’s when we bought him.

We got him in 2020 and have used him for everything you can imagine. He’s the perfect size for a youth kid or a small adult. He has a good way of traveling and is smooth. He neck reins, direct reins, flexes both ways, moves off your leg, carries his head just above the saddle horn, stops good and backs up when asked.

He came off a large ranch in West Texas and has been ridden in big country. He’s been used by grandpa and the grandkids to gather, move and pen cows. He’s perfect to go off alone to prowl pastures. They have had him in the branding pen and drug calves to the fire on him. He has been ridden countless miles checking fence lines. He is no stranger to long days and has plenty of heart to go back to a full time ranching life if that’s what you’re looking for. If you have a little one that can’t ride alone yet Chaz will step up to the plate as a lead line mount beside moms horse if he needs to.

If you don’t have a ranch no problem. Chaz is the most perfect trail riding buddy you could ask for. He has logged many many hours on the trails. He’s like a mountain goat maneuvering and picking his way through rough country and around the cactus. He will go willingly through any water source you need to. He will swim with you on him if you want to take him for a fun day in the lake. He’s been ridden around screaming kids, strollers, dozers, tractors, carriages, ATV’s and dogs. He’s been ridden in the Fort Worth Stockyards. He doesn’t give a flip about any of it and just cruises on. He’s been hauled previously to Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona to ride. He’s been ridden in the Palo Duro Canyon and Caprock.

He’s rides comfortably in the indoor or outdoor arena. The older kids have tracked and roped the dummy and live steers around on him. He will lope circles quietly and consistently. He picks up his leads. The kids ride him to keep the steers pushed up the alleys while the guys are roping.

We’ve used him for parties and events at our facility. He’s been used for photo shoots. He’s been used at festivals for a lead line horse for tourists that have never ridden.
