Chester has been a member of our A-string for awhile now. He is a barn favorite for our whole family. He is so good it’s almost hard to put into words because it’s impossible to tell all of the instances through which he has earned such high regard in our opinions. Chester came to us as a young gelding who had been started and been used outside some. We have continued to use him on the ranch and he is undoubtedly always a pleasure to use. He is easy to catch early in the mornings and never has a hump in his back. He has become a soldier of a using horse in every way, there is not a job that he does not do well. With Chester you will always be well mounted sorting cattle in the pens, working the cattle sale and all that that entails, catching and loading cattle in the pasture, doctoring. He has seen and done all of these things and he “knows what’s up!”



Not only is he a standout using gelding he is also one of the most gentle horses on our place. He has a quiet and kind personality and will seek you out for attention. There is no watchy or snorty nature here. He is safe for all ages and ability levels. Our whole family rides him, including our 6 year old daughter and multiple other kids and members of our family. Our daughter has ridden him on the ranch with us and we have several teenage cousins that have used him for youth ranch rodeo this year. Though he is handy broke and does have athletic ability he will not give you more than you ask for and stays quiet all the time.



Chester is also well started on the head side. He is far enough along that he is ready to start hauling now. He took to the head side extremely naturally when we started him. He was started right and he is a horse that will fit any level roper because of his nature. He will give you exactly what you ask for. He stays quiet in the box, leaves smooth and works very well in the field.
