If you are looking for a good using horse, one that’s fancy broke with plenty of buttons, then Popcorn is your guy. He is a good looking 12 year old sorrel gelding with plenty of shape and tons of eye appeal. He stands 15hh and 1200 pounds, with a big hip, pretty face with a kind eye, and a good sized foot. Popcorn is well versed in all aspects of ranch work, from gathering, to branding, to sorting. He will watch a cow and is excellent in the sorting pen, and is strong to the horn and not afraid to pull a bull twice his size. We have used him to pony colts, have played around with some team sorting, and he has also been heeled off of and has done some breakaway. He would be an excellent horse for someone wanting to dabble in some ranch versatility shows. We have hauled him all over and nothing bothers him, and he can perform all the maneuvers a ranch versatility horse needs to do. We have owned Popcorn for nearly a year, and we bought him from a family friend who had owned him for nearly 5 years, so he has not been passed around. He is fancy broke and has a ton of buttons, a willing attitude and a ton of athletic ability. Popcorn is an easy horse to be around, with excellent ground manners, a friendly disposition, and he is easy to catch, perfect for the shoer, and will stand tied all day long without issue. He has been on huge (50+ riders) multi-day trail rides with tons of things going on around him and never bats an eye. Popcorn isn’t spooky or scared of anything, is very sure footed in the rocks and mountains, and will go up, over, or through anything you point him at. He crosses water with no problem, travels out well in the pasture, and has a very smooth trot that you could sit to all day long. Popcorn has an excellent one handed neck rein, a sliding stop, and an extremely light mouth. He is good on both leads, will sidepass, work a gate, and can turn around pretty nicely. Popcorn gets along great with other horses and will ride out alone as well as with a group. He has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Asking $6500.
