Description:
No pony is ever perfect, but this one is pretty close. If you want one you can trust to keep your kids or grandkids safe, this is the one. Skittles is an 8 year old black and white pony who is absolutely as cute as can be, with her long, thick mane and pretty markings. She is right about 10 hands tall, wide backed, and straight legged. Skittles is sound and has never foundered, and has the sweetest personality. She has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, has never tried to rub anyone off on a fence or run them under a tree. My boys have done everything they can to find a hole in her, and there really isn’t one. Skittles is broke like a big horse, with an excellent stop, back up, and is easy to turn and steer. Kids can flop around all over her back and she will just keep on doing what she is supposed to do. Skittles has the best ground manners and is very good about making sure she doesn’t step on their feet. My boys clean out her feet, bathe, saddle and load her, and catch her all by themselves without any issue. My 8 year old rides her on his own and my 5 year old rides her leadline, but we have also had younger kids ride her leadline and she did very well. Skittles will ride out on the ranch and trails with the big horses, crosses water without a problem, will ride down the road and in traffic, and isn’t scared of anything out on the trails. She will pony next to another horse like a dream, no matter how big or small they are. Skittles rides good bareback in a halter or with a saddle and bridle, and has a smooth trot that is easy to sit to. We have not asked her to lope under saddle because my boys are not quite at that level yet. She would be a fun ride for a handy kid to finish out. Asking $4000.
