Description:
This guy is big, pretty, gentle as can be, and so much fun to ride. If you want a horse that will turn heads everywhere you take him, then check out Tank. He is a shapey 16hh gelding, every bit of 1300 pounds, with a big foot, a ton of bone and a very kind eye. Tank was bred by the Texas prison system, born in 2015, and grew up working at the Huntsville Prison’s Colt Facility as a ranch horse. Tank is sired by the Texas A&M stallion “He’s Pretty Smooth” and is out of a Skipper W/Peptoboonsmal/Poco Bueno bred mare. He is not registered but his brands confirm his breeding and age. Tank was purchased from the prison system last year by a family for their 8 year old daughter, but she lost interest and he’s just too good to go to waste in the pasture. He is super gentle, and has never offered to buck, rear, or take off, and has the friendliest personality. Tank absolutely loves attention and will seek you out if you go into his pasture, begging for attention. He has a ton of training and is very nicely broke, with a smooth trot and rocking horse lope. Tank has an excellent one handed neck rein and a very light mouth, especially for a horse his size. He will sidepass, work a gate, and stops and backs easily. He could use a little fine tuning as he has been packing around a kid for the last 6-8 months, but the foundation is all there and he is willing and loves to learn. He is the perfect age to take in any direction, whether you want to trail ride on him, make a performance horse out of him, or even a mounted patrol horse. Tank is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture and in the arena, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. We have literally found nothing that bothers him, a testament to all of the ground work and desensitizing he had done while he worked at the prison. Tank is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He has had colts climb all over him and it doesn’t phase him. He is an excellent pony horse and will really pull one if he needs to. Tank is currently barefoot, with good hard feet that hold up even in the rocks. He has excellent ground manners, is good for the shoer, stands quietly tied, loads and hauls well, and gets along with all other horses. Tank will ride out alone as well as with a group, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group while riding. He has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
