Let me start by saying this is one of the most gentle, easy-going geldings I’ve had in my barn in quite some time. Seriously, he isn’t bothered by anything and it makes him the most genuinely FUN horse to be around - he puts up with all of our shenanigans & my lesson kids love him! If you’re looking for a horse to take care of you, your children, or those guests that come to visit 1x a year and want to make some memories on horseback - you’ve found your guy! Safe, steady & seasoned, he’ll ensure a great experience for riders of all ages and skill levels. Meet Stetson! This handsome, cherry red 12 year old gelding is what owning a horse is all about. No drama, No nonsense, No tricks or gimmicks - just an enjoyable time! Stetson has been owned by the same family for his entire life, and comes with an enormous amount of experience under his belt. Parades, camping, hunting trips, 4H shows, and many evenings spent carting kids around the family farm. Has plenty of exposure to cattle and all sorts of other livestock. Even when you’re tangled up in a rope, he stays composed. Stetson is the epitome of reliability. We’ve hauled him all over and he is great in new places! He is traffic safe - cars, trucks or semi’s blasting right on by don’t phase him the least bit. Ride him through the drive-thru, meander through the park, hit the trails… Stetson is just happy to be there. He rides out alone or in a group. Stetson offers a ride so smooth, you’ll feel like you’re gliding on air. I know everyone claims their horse is a comfortable ride but I’m serious y’all, this guy is exceptionally smooth for a quarter horse. (a terrific choice for those of us with back problems). Stetson is the kind of horse you can let sit for months on end, hop on & go. In his video you can see just how good he is with the parachute and all that jazz – I want to say that what you see in the video was the very first time he has ever seen or done any of those things. No practice or prior desensitization, which says more than I ever could about his mind and how superbly he deals with new or unfamiliar things. You can do all the training in the world but if a horse doesn’t have a quiet mind, one day you’ll be out and about and come across something you’ve never trained them for and find yourself in a big bind. I know I can trust Stetson with anyone, anywhere, anytime! Stetson stands at an ideal 14.3 hands and has plenty of substance, making him the suitable size to pack anyone around. He is completely healthy & sound. Up to date on ALL care, and if you so desire, we have a lifetime of records available upon request. His teeth were floated on 4/15/24. As far as personality is concerned, he could double as the family dog. He will be the first to greet you in the pasture and drop his head in your arms to be loved on until you leave. His mellow and kind natured demeanor makes him a wonderful confidence builder. He loads and hauls great, will stand tied quietly & wait around for you all day long! Loves bath time and is easy to clip. You can climb all around, over, & underneath him. He is great with his feet too - your farrier will thank you! Stetson is certainly special, and I know he will be enjoyed by all no matter where he goes. You don’t see horses like him very often and I’m sure it goes without saying at this point but in case it’s not obvious enough – Stetson is a keeper. That’s why he has been held onto by the same family for the past 12 years. It is only due to family circumstances that he is being offered for sale.
