Haying: Yes Room And Board: Needed Phone#: 0000000000 Description: Husband and wife team(mid 40’s, mid 30’s), currently in a middle management position on a large ranch are looking for more responsibility and to build something for our children’s future. What we’re looking for is an opportunity to manage a ranch and the ability to run some cows of our own as part of the compensation package. Either a fixed number or as a percentage of the ranches carrying capacity, ideally up to 50 hd. Currently have none of our own. We oversee +/- 500 cows and/or 1k yearlings. Wife has a lifetime of ranch experience and can do anything with a cow short of c sections. She’s requested to cut calves at neighboring brandings. We’re both experienced in dry land and subirrigated hay production, can run all the equipment proficiently, and he has solid mechanical abilities. We’re good with people, active in the community, neighborly, RFP graduates, hold ourselves to a high performance standard, and are fun to be around. Have 20 years of management experience and a solid understanding of operating budgets and cost & revenue projections. We consider ourselves ranchers so we’ll gladly do everything required to keep an operation moving. We like to perform cattle work horseback and will ride daily when it’s appropriate but will also put them away and service the tractor when it’s due, put up the hay, fix the fence, fight fire, and grade the road when necessary. We weren’t blessed to be born into a place to take over management of or purchase shares in a ranch when a family member retires but we enjoy what we do and will continue. We know situations like this exist because we’ve seen it be successful for both parties several times so it’s worth asking for what you are after. This could be a win win because it’ll allow us to have skin in the game. We won’t let your cow herd or ranch deteriorate because if we fail to keep the ranch profitable, we both lose. Would need a 3 bedroom house and branding must not be done on a table. Please note that at this stage of our life and experience we cannot accept a “hand” position, it must be supervisory level and one where we’re involved in strategic level conversations to keep the business in a strong position.
