Chico is a 10yr old, 15hh grade gelding who lives on a ranch in Southern Arizona. He is sound, sane and loves his job. Asking $5,500



Will he spin a hole in the ground? No. Will he leave a set of elevens when he stops? Also no. Does he break necks with his striking good looks? Sadly, no.



What makes Chico worth his weight in gold is hard to catch on videos, but it is so valuable. He fits the script of a tried and true ranch horse. He’s seen many a miles outside and he’s as sure footed as they come. He’s caught lots of cattle outside, branded calves, worked his way through boulder piles, picked his path through thickets and ran through the mess of it to get in front of the leaders. He’s a horse that knows his job. He’ll plod along all day, but he’s all there when you have a job to get done. You can leave him turned out for 6 months, cinch him up and lope right off. Kick him in the flanks, use the reins for balance, knock him in the ear while swinging your rope, he won’t hold it against you. He’s just happy to be ranching.



I’d love to see him go to a family that will continue to use him on the ranch. I think he would be a great step up horse for a kid that has moved on from the 20yr old nag, but still needs something safe to learn on.
