If you are looking for a fun horse to push cattle on or just ride around the ranch, one that is safe and not too far off the ground, then take a look at Onyx. He is a cute 14.1 hh GRADE gelding, with good hard feet and stout enough to carry a man but not too far off the ground. He is 16 years old, sound, and has plenty of life left. He will be coal black once he sheds out the rest of his winter coat. Onyx has a great personality, friendly and willing and game for anything you ask him to do. He has been ridden all over Texas and New Mexico at state parks and ranches, has pushed cattle, and has even been ridden English. He is a cute mover and would be a nice little pony club horse for a handy kid. Onyx rides excellent both out in the pasture and in the arena, travels out well in the pasture, will neck rein or direct rein, has a light mouth and an easy stop. He is easy to catch and will nicker and walk up to you when he sees you, begging for attention. He is sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point him at, and has no trouble crossing water or tall brush. Onxy has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and he has excellent ground manners. He is good for the shoer, stands quietly tied, loads and hauls well, and gets along with all other horses. Onyx will ride out alone as well as with a group, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group while riding. He has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Asking $2000.
