Experienced ranch hand Seeking long term employment. Willing to relocate anywhere in the US. My partner and I are looking for long-term employment on a cow/ calf operation. We love the lifestyle and are not afraid of rural living. Hire me solo or us as a pair.

My experience consists confidently of calving cows and heifers, every part of caring for calves from weaning to feeding replacement heifers, sewing up prolapses, tube feeding calves, experience with adoptions and grafting calves, pulling foot-back, head-back, and tail-first calves, identifying and doctoring sick cattle, as well as keeping accurate records. I prefer working and doctoring horseback, and understand that ATV/UTVs can also be useful.

I have experience running skid steers, tractors, a grapple, feed wagons, balers, rakes, a hydroswing, and other haying equipment, bale beds, cake feeders, and dump trailers.

I have some knowledge of mechanics with tractors, trailers, and haying equipment. I can sufficiently weld and have worked with acetylene torches and other tools.

I’ve built and done maintenance on barb wire and electric fences, and can build H braces and gates. I have worked on and understand various types of water systems, tanks, and floats.

I have a passion for starting colts and training horses, and pride myself on making good ranch horses. I am also experienced in equine sales and marketing, and would like to continue buying and selling my own horses.

I’m 28 years old and consider myself to be a motivated, honest, and reliable self-starter. I take direction well and am willing to learn, but I would also thrive in a self-managing environment. I believe good communication and a positive attitude make for a successful day.

My partner is a hard-working lady who’s spent most of her career as a head wrangler for dude ranches but also has experience in dairy farming, horseshoeing, landscaping, and customer service. She has some experience in cattle ranching and is a quick learner who can jump in wherever needed. She knows how to operate tractors, skid steers, ATV/UTVs, and haul livestock. She has experience driving large trucks but does not have a CDL. She can build/maintain barb wire and electric fencing, and is handy with power tools. She has experience feeding livestock, checking waters, doctoring horses, wrangling horses, and moving cattle by horseback, on foot, and ATV/UTV.

Currently in South Dakota, I am contracted out until mid-June. We are willing to relocate anywhere in the US, but will require housing. Together, we have our own string of horses (we do our own farrier work) and 2 well-behaved dogs. Currently, I have 4 cows. In this move, I’d like to be in an environment where I can continue the process of building my own herd.
