RANCH WORK OPPORTUNITY: We are looking for some Spring/Summer help, that may develop into a long-term opportunity. We have a unique, unconventional, small, family ranching operation. Although we have a few cows, including a small dairy herd that we milk by hand, our primary productive emphasis is an expanding meat goat grazing (and sheep and goat trading/marketing) operation, utilizing daily rotational grazing, relying primarily on in-person herding/tending. This includes grazing on both irrigated and dry ground, and moving goats on a daily basis, as well as moving as many as five wheel lines twice a day. We also put up some hay, so there may be some tractor work, as well as a considerable amount of physical labor, including basic ranch chores, feeding livestock, hauling hay, building, repairing and maintaining fence, installing new water lines, basic construction, weed control, and other property/infrastructure maintenance, etc. We also utilize draft horses and draftX horses and herding dogs to some extent in our operation, and are looking to give young horses and dogs more work. So, the opportunity may include some unique horse and/or dog training opportunities. We have modest, but adequate/comfortable, rustic bunkhouse apartment living accommodations. There are also opportunities for gardening, etc., and much food, including milk, eggs, meat, etc., can be provided. Compensation is commensurate with experience, skill set and attitude, etc..
