Description:
Pongo got his name from all his “Dalmatian” type spots that make him so unique. He is the total package! Gentle for the entire family, honest down the trails, seasoned ranch horse and rope horse. If you can think of it he’s done it, or you will be able to do it with him. Pongo has been the babysitter for our 3 year old, to our main using ranch horse and everything in-between! He’s got the kindest personality and is always waiting at the gate ready to go for a ride. Pongos ground manners are great and he’s always gentle whether a kid or adult is handling him. He’s quiet to ride in town and around traffic. Pongo has done all aspects of ranch work from roping in the pasture, doctoring sick cattle, dragging calves to the fire and moving pairs from pasture to pasture. At weaning time Pongo is the go-to horse, he’s quiet in the herd, sorts great in the alley and you can run most any gate off of him. We haven’t found a task we couldn’t do with him. He’s absolutely great around the farm with all the equipment, dogs, and commotion going on around here daily. He gets along great in a pasture setting. He is fine stalled. He loads and backs out of a trailer. When it comes to a relaxing trail ride that everyone deserves after a long week, Pongo is the guy you will want to grab every time. Catch him anywhere, stands tied great, saddles up without a fuss. He is easily guided with one hand down the trail at a steady pace. He only goes the speed you ask. Pongo is a special one. He is genuine, true and honest as the day is long. He has been roped on in the arena as well on either end. He will run hard to cattle either in the arena or in the pasture. He has natural cow sense and ability to rate. Pongo is the jack of all trades and the trusted gelding we grab to either take care of our little one or to get an important job done.
