Ogren Ranch is actively looking for a full time, long term, ambitious, self- motivated person or couple to join our team!



We are a 4th generation, small family ranch in Eastern Montana on the Yellowstone River. We are focused on regenerative agriculture including soil health, rotational grazing, cover crop grazing, low stress livestock handling, and ranch to table beef. This is a mid-April calving, cow/calf operation that includes flood irrigated hay ground as a winter feed base. The successful applicant will have an active role in irrigating, running hay equipment, feeding, fencing, calving, working cattle, general equipment maintenance, and general ranch maintenance. We are looking for someone who is a team player, is driven, can work unsupervised, and is passionate about regenerative agriculture. The ability to work full days, especially in summer is a must. Experience with haying equipment is highly preferred but we are willing to train someone if they are a great fit in the other areas. This is NOT a cowboy job. We do handle our cattle horseback and in a low stress manner, but summer time will be spent focusing on the irrigating and putting up of hay. There is a lot of work with the livestock during spring and fall (branding, calving, weaning, preg checking, bangs vaccinating, etc)



Qualified candidate will receive a competitive wage, housing (small 2 bedroom/1bath house) with utilities, ½ a beef after 6 months, and the opportunity to start their own cow herd after being part of the operation for 1 year. Haying equipment is modern but not state of the art. We do allow 1-2 personal horses and dogs but all must be well behaved. There are 2 small towns approximately 15 miles from the ranch with K-12 schools. Bus comes to the mailbox.
