Description:
Camp man willing and able to shoot, calve heifers, and stay at a primitive and isolated cow camp that is miles from cell phone service in remote Eastern Oregon. Job responsibilities include fencing, calving out first-calf heifers (bred to calve in May and June), some flood irrigating, building and moving some electric fence, pasture moves, and patrolling for wolves, coyotes, and bears. You’ll need a good saddle, a straight-shooting rifle, and a warm bedroll. You’ll want to show up with a positive attitude, a love for tradition and principle, and grit teeth. No dogs, mares, or whining. Job runs mid-April through November. Bonus for finishing the season. Could turn into a year-round, full time job. Call Mat if you’re interested.
