Description:
If you are looking for a big, stout, smooth gelding to use on the ranch or ride on trails, then take a look at Chunk. He is 15.2 hh and every bit of 1400 pounds, with a huge hip, plenty of bone, and good, hard feet. Chunk came off of a huge ranch in Wyoming, where he was used to check fence, push cattle, and drag calves to the fire. He is currently being ridden by a 73 year old man on the ranch. He is a gentle giant, and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, and stays gentle even if not ridden regularly. Chunk is easy to catch, stands quietly tied, and is excellent for the farrier. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He rides quietly on a loose rein, and will never go any fast er than you ask him to. Chunk is quiet but responsive, and while he prefers to be on the slower side will easily trot or lope if asked. He has one of the smoothest trots I’ve ever sat, and a nice lope as well. He has an excellent neck rein, a light mouth and a good stop, and will move off your leg and work a gate. Chunk gets along great with other horses, will ride out alone as well as with a group, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group while riding.
