Description:
The J Bar L-Cinch Buckle Ranch, is offering a one year contract for a ranch employee position. Our mission is to STEWARD our land and animals to the best of our ability. SHARE what we are learning at the intersection of ranching and conservation and ENHANCE understanding of conservation of wild spaces.



This person will assist in all ranch duties. The candidate must be flexible, a self-starter, able to work with a team and independently with little supervision. It is not necessary that this person has previous livestock experience but he/she must be willing to learn and implement low stress livestock handling principles and other animal husbandry practices. He/she must have good communication skills, a positive attitude and be able to work efficiently. He/she must be willing to pitch in where and when needed.



Duties include:

• Hay and Cake feeding to all classes of cattle.

• Construction and maintenance of temporary electric fence as well as repair and maintenance of permanent fences both electric and barbed wire.

• Routinely checking/monitoring health and condition of cows, calves and yearling cattle.

• Assisting in production events such as: Vaccinating, Branding, Calving

• Routinely providing mineral and salt to all cattle.

• Assisting in carrying out the season’s grazing plan.

• Monitor winter drinking conditions for all classes of cattle.

• Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance.

• Occasional carpentry work.

• Maintain and monitor water tanks and pipelines.
