We are seeking a couple that is friendly and professional with a service mentality to manage the caretaking of the owners’ houses, buildings, ATVs, and vehicles so that the Ranch Owners can have an enjoyable experience at the ranch without headaches caused by building, vehicle, or grounds issues. They should work with the goal of ensuring that all tasks are done ahead of owners’ arrival. They should also be flexible in working to fulfill any requests that the owners have while at the ranch. The two main seasons that the owners use the ranch are during the summer months and hunting season in the fall. Those two seasons will be very busy and may require working seven days a week at times. At the end of the fall hunting season all buildings will need to be winterized and closed down for the winter. Vehicles and ATVs will need to be cleaned and taken in for service and maintenance. Winters are more slow paced and there is the opportunity for the Caretakers will be able to take up to 2 months off (paid) during the winter (January-February). This is in addition to the 1-week paid vacation that may be used throughout the year. Ranch Caretakers report to the Ranch Manager but should expect direction from owners as well. The Ranch Manager is available to assist the Caretakers with suggestions and contacts to help achieve ranch tasks. Ranch Caretakers will be provided with a detailed set of responsibilities and guidelines for expectations of certain tasks. The ranch provides: • 4-bedroom house • Utilities and Internet • Vehicles for ranch use. • Health insurance after 90 days. • 401k with up to a 3% match after the first year. Responsibilities -Cleaning and prepping houses, vehicles, ATVs, and recreation areas prior to the owner’s arrival. -Overseeing maintenance of all the owners’ buildings, vehicles and ATVs. Working with the Ranch Manager to assure that maintenance is complete. -Overseeing the lawn contractors on the mowing. -Mowing and trimming additional grass areas, as well as some light tree trimming and picking up branches. -Be available to assist with getting harvested animals to the processor and taxidermist. -Caretakers may be responsible for care and feeding of some ranch animals such as cats, chickens, turkeys, or goats. The goal of these animals is to add “life” to the ranch and have a more well-rounded ranch animal experience than simply cattle and horses. -Each owner has different requirements and preferences, these nuances should be learned over time and anticipated upon visits. A friendly disposition and interest in learning each owner’s preferences is all that is needed to excel in this area. -There will be various requests made by owners and guests that cannot be anticipated but should be expected. For example, assisting owners with recreational activities such as floating and cookouts. Keeping an eye out for opportunities to improve owners’ and guests’ experience visiting the ranch is all that is needed to excel in this area. -Light handyman type repairs. We use contractors, plumbers, and electricians for all larger jobs. Qualifications -Be service oriented with a friendly and professional disposition. -Some experience in the service/hospitality industry is preferred, but not required. -No smoking, drug use or heavy drinking.
