Description:
Family-owned private feedlot operation in South Central Montana has an immediate opening for a full time experienced pen rider. This is not a beginner/inexperienced rider position. You will be working alongside the boss and one to two other seasoned cowboys.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of quiet cattle handling practices and horsemanship skills, roping experience is preferred. Must be able to identify, handle and treat sick and injured cattle, and assist in processing, shipping, and receiving cattle. Applicants must be willing to work and ride in all weather conditions. Additional duties include pen and lot maintenance. Because this is a diversified operation, applicants can expect to also assist in some aspects of the farm, primarily during corn harvest, however, most of this position is in the feedlot. A CDL is not required, but experience in driving trucks and tractors is a plus. Being able to work independently and as part of a team is a must. We are looking for a motivated individual who is willing to work until the job is complete, this is not an 8-5 job.

The feedlot is in a Class B school district with a history of quality academics and sports teams, providing a good family atmosphere, 20 minutes east of Billings, MT.

The wage package includes health insurance compensation prorated for employees. One week paid vacation after the first year. Beef is provided. Housing will be accommodated. Yearly wage D.O.E. Other incentives and benefits are included.
