Description:
Our company is seeking a full-time ranch hand/assistant manager for our stocker operation in Logan County, Kansas. Previous experience in ranching is preferred. This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, physical fitness, and flexibility regarding work schedules, especially during busy seasons. Knowledge in animal husbandry, operating and maintaining ranch equipment, and sustainable ranching practices is needed. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Depending on experience, benefits include a competitive salary ranging from $40,000-$50,000; a work pickup provided, and two weeks vacation; all other details to be negotiated.



Responsibilities:



Perform daily tasks related to the care and feeding of livestock (and other animals as needed)

Assist with herding, sorting, and managing livestock during various ranching activities

Build, maintain and repair fencing, gates, and other infrastructure on the ranch

Operate and maintain ranch equipment, such as tractors, ATVs, and other machinery

Monitor and provide basic medical care for animals, identifying and addressing any health concerns

Assist in the maintenance of pastures

Participate in seasonal tasks, such as branding, vaccinations, and calving

Implement sustainable ranching practices and contribute to overall land stewardship

Collaborate with other ranch staff to ensure a safe and efficient working environment

Perform other duties as assigned by ranch management
