Description:
Doug is a stout, athletic ranch type gelding, standing about 15 hands and 1250 pounds. He is flashy, big boned, and in his prime. He has checked a lot of fences, gathered and trailed cattle, roped cows and calves, and sorted cattle. We have had Doug trail riding in town and in the mountains, exposing him to bridges, traffic, bicycles, rescue dogs, rivers, bogs, down timber, joggers, turkeys, llamas, crowds, and backpackers. Doug is not cold backed or broncy. Saddle Doug up, give him 10 minutes to eat his oats, bridle him, snug your cinch, and ride off. He is responsive to leg cues and has a fair neck rein. Doug has mostly been ranched on and ridden on trails. His arena experience is limited to loping some circles and roping a dummy. Our 12-year-old daughter likes riding Doug and says he is willing, responsive, quiet, and a good boy. Doug loads straight, backs out on command, and is always happy to go! Come meet Doug at home in northern Colorado before the sale. Willing to hold for 10 days post sale at no charge. Shipping available.
