Bet Yur Pure Cat "Rosebud"



Gentle cow-bred young gelding with unique history. Bred by reputation New Mexico horse program, born and grew up in rough Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico. Basically untouched until 3+ years, I started him gradually and carefully as a four-year-old. Gathered and shipped thousands of yearlings on Montana mountain ranches, performed all phases of work on large northeastern New Mexico cow-calf operation, doctored weaned calves solo, started colts from him, gathered horses, hauled for lots of neighboring. Smart, athletic, cowy, and responsive. Supple through his body and feet, responsive to seat and leg cues, and five classical rein aids. Lopes slow and smooth on loose rein, changes leads. Rides in hackamore, snaffle bit, or neck string. Just started in two-rein with lower port spade bit. Started roping slowly, he stays confident and calm roping and working cattle in pasture or pens, picks up and lets down his energy as needed. He’s the same horse after extended time off, he has been exposed to a lot of pressure, and he’s never bucked, but he’ll need an experienced, steady rider who can keep him engaged and set him up to succeed. Old scar on left hind fetlock. No lameness, and x-rays last two years show no joint damage.
