Seeking Hay Manager

We are located in Plumas County, (Northern California) 45 mins from Reno, Nv. We are seeking a Hay manager for the 2024 season to operate roughly 1200 irrigated acres: 6 pivots and wheel lines.

Individuals must have a valid driver’s license, must pass background check and be able to relocate if necessary. No drug use allowed.



Duties include but not limited to,

1.Maintenance of haying/farming equipment

2.Overseeing operations of putting up high quality dairy hay from planting to harvest: including spraying for weeds, farming up fields as needed in the fall

3. Working with current manager to learn operation for the first season

4. Working on irrigation systems



Must Have:

Min. of 5 years experience in hay production

Experience with ag wells and pivots

Must be able to manage a crew of 3 to 5 people

Must be able to work independently

Must Be able to Lift 75lbs

Must able to work on feet for long hours



Ranch owns modern haying equipment and a large shop. Manager would be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized shop and shop yard, as well as equipment and ranch vehicles. Haying season runs from June 1st through September. Job has the possibility of being a year round position. Hours based on 5 1/2 day week, weekends and holidays when needed. Pay based on experience. Ranch vehicle provided.
