Rebel is a good horse. I’ve had him since he was a two year old. I broke him myself and got him under saddle and he never once even offered to buck. He is 15.1H and 17 yo now we have ridden him in the mountains, we have worked a lot of cows on him, he’s been doing a lot of branding’s, heading and healing calves and he loves the water. He’ll play in the river all day long. He has also been on every hunt since he was two years old and has packed many a hunter and elk out of the mountains. My kids needed more rodeo horses so he came out of just being a ranch horse and got turned into a rodeo horse. Also, he’s been break away barrels and poles. We have team roped on him, but only in practice at our own arena. The reason I am even thinking of selling him is because he is at the bottom of the pecking order at my place, and they run all together as a band but this last winter was really rough on him, and especially being at the bottom of the pecking order, I think it would be better suited to go somewhere warmer, not the high country here in Wyoming. He would make a great babysitter horse or trail horse for somebody just getting going or if you just needed a spare horse around the ranch for guest to ride or little kids. He is as gentle as the day is long. He would be an awesome first horse for a kid or older lady that isn’t going to run his legs off. He can still handle a lot of riding but if you use him all day every day he will get a little stiff. Rebel is that perfect sweet soul that everyone needs to get them started out in the horse world. He would be a wonderful lesson horse. But he needs a little more love and individual feed and attention than he gets here on the ranch.
