Classy is a very beautiful and stout mare who has finally matured into a reasonable, well mannered, contributing member of the family and horse society.



I bought her dam aged, unbroke, based on her bloodlines and confirmation. She came with a reactionary streak that unfortunately she imprinted onto Classy and despite her sire having a golden mind, it’s taken time to outgrow that reactionary tendency.



As a weanling, Classy attempted to jump a gate and injured her right shoulder in the process. Altho ugly, the injury never caused her unsoundness or inhibited her movement.



Classy is an amazing athlete, naturally collected and well balanced. She went through her basic reining training as a 3 and 4 yr old- she executes soft lead departures, circles nicely in frame, with a soft chin and proper body alignment, both directions, and changes leads. She yields her hips and shoulders to leg pressure, and understands the presentation of a neckrein as it relates to the turn around. She has a naturally collected stop.



She’s very comfortable and confident on the mountain trail and is sure footed. The video clips of the obstacles were taken last week, at a facility she’d never been to, on obstacles she’d never seen. A little praise and reassurance combined with a moment to look a situation over goes a long way with this girl. She’s willing to try most anything.



Classy needs solid leadership presented by a confident, competent rider, and is not recommended for a first time buyer.
