If you are looking for a safe horse the entire family can enjoy, then check out Starlett. She is a beautiful 17 year old buckskin mare, 14.3hh and AQHA registered as “Starletts Gold”, #4921830. She is very well bred with a ton of NCHA Champions on her papers, including Docs Hickory, Lenas Jewel Bars, and Count Hickory. She has been used primarily as a trail horse, although she has played around with cows here and there and seems to enjoy it. She also rides English and is very fun bareback. Starlett is extremely gentle and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and is the same horse no matter how often you ride her. She is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Starlett doesn’t have a fancy handle or a ton of fancy training, but she is willing and good minded with a smooth trot and rocking horse lope. She knows her leads, will move off your leg, and has an excellent stop. She is sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point her at. Starlett is laid back and will not go any faster than you ask her to, but will easily step into a trot or lope when asked. She can be ridden by herself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. She has also been ridden alongside the road and isn’t bothered by it. Starlett is very easy to catch, has excellent ground manners, is not mare-ish, is good for the shoer, stands quietly tied, and loads and hauls well. Asking $5500.
