The Coordinator will organize and execute all of the government funding opportunities for Beef Northwest’s four cattle finishing facilities, three cattle growyard facilities, two ranching operations, two trucking terminals, and pork processing facility. As Beef Northwest and affiliates continue to grow and as Federal, State, and Local Governments seek to incentivize certain production practices and outcomes, we are pursuing a self-starting individual to investigate, apply for, and manage any and all available programs that the companies qualify for. Skills: • Basic computer experience in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, etc.) • Basic accounting knowledge with high attention to accuracy • Delivering and receiving information clearly and concisely • Personable • Able to work as part of a team • Organized • Understanding of Federal budget process • Grant writing ability • Knowledge of USDA programs and grants Duties: The Government Programs and Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for the following tasks for all companies: • Create system to track and communicate the following: o Local, State, and Federal grants and incentive programs, available to all entities o Application deadlines o Relevant contact information o Status of open programs claims, eligibility forms, and/or soon to expire contracts. o Tracking of funds received by entity. o Quarterly communication of results to Executive Team and other stakeholders. • Research all government programs for available funding; identify opportunities for all Beef Northwest subsidiaries and affiliates. • Project Management o Be lead on all Governmental programs from start to finish. o Communicating with relevant Government leads to identify projects and programs that apply to entities. o Send preliminary report to Executive Team and stakeholders six months prior to application deadlines. o Prepare applications, eligibility forms, and all other paperwork as required. o Communicate with internal stakeholders to gather the necessary information required for relevant programs. o Be lead for project process with support from internal stakeholders, from start to finish. o Identify any and all milestone communication needed between BNW entity and program oversite government entity. o Management of external grant writers when necessary. • Be point person for Sustainability Plan management. o Familiarize yourself with the BNW Sustainability Plan. o Build system to track progress for Environmental Targets. o Coordinate with BNW Management and any outside entities. o Give timely reports to BNW Management team on progress. Experience/Education: • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or accounting preferred but may be substituted by experience. • General knowledge of ranch and feedyard operations preferred but not required.
