Riley is a superstar of a pony with a heart of gold. He has everything under the sun going for him; he’s got a great personality & demeanor, rides incredibly well, is versatile, is gentle and comes in handsome wrapping. He is extremely broke, neck reins honestly, moves off your legs, lopes smooth pretty circles both directions and has a great stop. Riley is a rare find in a pony as well as he rides and as accomplished as he is. Riley is gentle for all ages and ability levels to ride, but he is much more than a babysitter, he is an absolute unicorn. From a child who is just starting out to a child who is competing in the rodeo arena or working on the ranch, he will fit. This is a pony you can start your child out with that they can grow on and grow with for years to come. Riley is well experienced in many areas from the arena to the ranch. He has been hauled to playdays, barrel races, ropings, different ranches for day work and trail ride outings from Texas all the way to Nevada. Riley has seen a lot of the world and it has made a solid citizen out of him. He knows the barrels and poles, you can breakaway calves on him, tie goats, go for a nice trail ride or take him to work on the ranch alongside mom and dad. He is a pony that will give as much as you ask for in terms of his motor. I would not describe him as a push style pony nor would I describe him as forward. He is a happy medium and gives exactly what you ask for. He is very mindful of his rider’s ability. He will stay slow and steady for a beginner that lacks confidence, but will easily move forward more as his rider feels comfortable asking. His lope is very smooth and he is soft in the mouth, making him easy to learn on and build confidence on. Riley has spent enough time on the road that he is an easy customer in regards to keeping. He trailers and ties well, eats & drinks well on the road, settles into new places without batting an eye and is a very easy keeper. He is well accustomed to general ranch and event chaos and is not easily spooked. He has no special maintenance or care requirements and is absolutely sound in every way. Riley will fit into a wide range of homes or programs anywhere from a multi-event rodeo pony to a ranch or trail pony or even a lesson program, but no matter where he goes he is sure to bring joy and create many good memories for years to come.
