The most awesome and solid minded Belgian driving mare you’ll find anywhere. She is extremely automatic. Even the most green and timid person can harness and drive her. She has been driven extensively in New Orleans as a commercial carriage horse. Her and her team mate Sally have done it all. She’s been used by us to give carriage rides at weddings, events and parties. We drive her to town to the corner store and the donut shop. We’ve taught several people how to drive with her. We hook her to our flat wagon and use her to feed alfalfa all around our ranch. We drive her as many as 5 days a week sometimes and she’s always the same rock solid soldier. The great thing about her though is you can leave her off 2-3 months and when you harness her she’s the exact same as when you left her. She goes at whatever speed you put her at. When you stop her she will stand still and doesn’t jig around wanting to go. She has the patience of a saint and the heart of an Angel. She will pull a large multi seated carriage or a large 2 wheel cart.

She along with Sally has been used in a therapeutic riding program. They were used mostly for the larger clients in the therapy program. She’s super good with side walkers. They also used her to teach some of the clients to drive there.

Lori has also been ridden on the trails. She’s had no professional training under saddle but she goes willingly where you want her to. She will ride out alone or in a group. Our workers (with little to no experience) jump on her and ride all over our place for their evening fun time.

Lori is just an all around great minded kind mare you don’t want to miss if you need a driving horse that’s multi talented as well. She has impeccable ground manners. She ties and will also stand in the cross ties. She stands quietly for a bath. She loads and unloads like a lady. Lori does have a full long gorgeous tail instead of a docked one.
