 Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Employer: American Heritage Railways
Salary: $18 - $24 per hour
Room & Board: On-site RV hookups available if on-property living is desired.

Description:
The Maintenance Technician will be directly responsible for the oversight of all property maintenance at the ranch including barns, arenas, rental units and common spaces. Additionally, they will manage the maintenance of all tools and equipment on property and oversee grounds keeping.





Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the Ranch Manager and Barn Supervisor to determine property and equipment maintenance needs

- Repair and maintain all buildings and barns on property

- Source needed tools and materials to properly maintain all aspects of the ranch property

- Ensure all vehicles and equipment on property is properly functioning to ensure efficient and safe use.

- Complete all repairs, maintenance, and sourcing/installation of parts for equipment

- Mowing, weed eating, and brush hog yard work

- Manage and assist with snowplow/removal during winter months

- Build and maintain adequate fencing on property

- Address plumbing, heating, and water needs that arise

- Dragging and maintaining roads

- Maintains organization of all tools, equipment and materials

- Assist with event setup and teardown as needed

- Other Duties as assigned.



Education, Skill & Work Experience Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or related field is preferred

- Proven experience in maintenance or a similar role, preferably in a hospitality or recreational setting

- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including troubleshooting and repair techniques

- Proficiency in using common hand and power tools, as well as maintenance equipment.

- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and in various weather conditions

- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in confined spaces

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively



Work Environment:

- Majority of time spent in a ranch or farm setting with uneven ground, heavy equipment/machinery operation, and livestock
