Description:
We are looking for a motivated ranch hand/family to assist in managing our cow/calf operation in the rugged, beautiful badlands of North Dakota. Duties include plenty of time in the saddle managing and caring for our cow/calf pairs and operating equipment for haying the Little Missouri River bottom. We desire a family-oriented, hard working hand ready to stay on long-term and work alongside our family.



Responsibilities include:

Assisting with our cow/calf operation: calving, feeding, sorting & gathering, doctoring, and other maintenance and general care of cattle.

Fixing and maintaining fence in rough country.

Putting up hay: operating the swather, rake, baler, and loader tractor

Operating ATV sprayers for controlling noxious weeds on private land and federal leases

General upkeep and repairs on corrals, barns, other ranch structures

Providing general maintenance, oil changes, and repairs on pickups, tractors and other equipment.



Requirements:

Previous experience operating machinery on a farm and ranch

Experience and confidence with horses and cattle

A strong work ethic and positive attitude

Valid drivers license

Willingness to work extended hours during the calving and haying season

Ability to perform physical tasks

Willingness to live in a remote location and endure harsh ND winters



We offer competitive compensation, including hourly wages and potential bonuses. We provide housing, transportation, and beef for your freezer.



We use our horses. We gather, sort, brand, and doctor our cattle from the back of a horse. Roping experience is definitely preferred. We gladly accommodate your horses and outdoor ranch dogs.
