Description:
Trip was purchased to make a ranch horse, but has spent most of his life in the arena, so needs more time learning about rocks, badger holes and where his feet are to be this grandma’s horse. He’s a big, gentle, people-friendly guy. He’s got a good handle, and is light and responsive to all the aids. He likes to run. Fast. He’s not crazy, not flighty, not a runaway, not spooky at all, not the least bit buddy sour, doesn’t buck, isn’t mean or dishonest. Hes just fast. And he likes it like that.



He’s currently on the ranch and getting a lot better about rocks, mud bogs and rough country. Sage grouse don’t scare him. Riding away from his buddies doesn’t worry him. He really likes cows, and no way can one beat him at a run, but he gets so intensely hooked on them he doesn’t always pay attention to his feet. My son and daughter-in-law are putting some miles on him to try to bring him along for me, but I need something with a little less motor. Meanwhile, hes busy learning to be a ranch horse.



He’s sweet and kind on the ground. Stands tied all day. Hauls good. Good for the farrier. I really like this horse, but he just isn’t solid enough outside for what I need. I’m old and I need something that’s ready for me to get some work done with now.



He was started as a barrel horse by the previous owner,

but she said he couldn’t handle the pressure without getting hot and tense. He’s really sensitive to the rider, and responsive, maybe a quiet and relaxed confident rider could restart him and make a go of it. Maybe he’d make a rope horse.



I might be willing to trade for something quiet, between 5 and 15, that has been roped on in the branding pen and is handy outside. Broke, safe and gentle, no buck, no nonsense, no buddy sour. Please. I have grandkids.
