Windy Wildfire (Sky) born in 2017



Sky is a big beautiful sorrel mustang mare. She stands 15.2 hands tall and weighs 1300 lbs. Sky was rounded up in 2018 from the Warm Springs HMA and was selected to be part of the Spayed Filly Futurity program. This means that Sky is a mare but acts like a gelding!! She is calm, quiet, and gets along with just about anyone. Through the Spayed Filly Program Sky was trained for reined cow horse competition, so she has a very extensive resume. She never actually got to show as it was cancelled that year due to Covid.

For the last few years Sky has been mostly a trail horse but has also moved cows in the hills and gone to a few sorting’s. She would really excel in a home that wanted to do a little bit of everything. She isn’t spooky, no buck, bolt, or rear. She travels out alone as well as in a group and can walk out or slow things down depending on her rider’s preference.

Sky is soft in your hands and light off your legs. She has a wonderful big stop on her and can also really lope out of her tracks when asked. She can side-pass, half-pass, haunches in, turn on the fore hand, and spin. Opens and closes gates from her back. She is well trained enough to perform for an advanced rider, but also quiet and safe enough for a child to be ponied or even ride her themselves with supervision.

Sky is the first one to meet you at the gate and is always ready for a ride. She stands tied, good for the farrier (has never needed shoes), loads in the trailer great, and has great ground manners.

Sky is currently in training for a tune up and to get back into shape after being turned out all winter.
